COVID19 ADVICE
As an NHS provider we follow government advice issued daily and have now put a higher level of cross infection control in place. We maintain high hygiene standards, disinfect PIN pads, door handles, waiting area, seating etc in addition to our clinical equipment. We are asking all our clients to wash their hands upon entering our clinical area. We now also have to ask if you have travelled in the last 14 days and would have to follow a procedure to isolate anyone whom we suspect may have COVID19 while they call 111. As a small practice we provide high standards and a safe environment, but should you have any concerns please do contact us.
We have been asked to put the following statement on our website:
The NHS is well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases and has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.
Check online at gov.uk and at nhs.uk for advice on your travel and contact history and the latest COVID-19 information before attending the Optical Practice.
Thank you.
Our practice expansion in pictures!
Out with the old, we sold all our fittings, mirrors, chandeliers and even reused the cupboards in our office. The 2 sides of the old pub are re-united! Ben meets Eric on the other side! Ben Ferguson and team building our curved wall! The curviest office wall in town! Mark, the highly skilled local craftsman who made our drawers. Marks drawers were finally in. To stain or not to stain? That was the question! Sarah designed the frame displays and became a pro with the danish oil! Sarah’s husband came in very handy! Giving the old reception desk a facelift! Our old door disappears! Graham – we would not have crossed the finishing line without you! Eric, whose skills know no bounds!
Beady Eye on Kreuzberg Kinder!
Before Christmas we had the very exciting arrival of the much talked about brand Kreuzberg Kinder. This is a collection of frames that have been making a big impact in the European fashion eyewear market. Kreuzberg Kinder (meaning the children of Kreuzberg) comes from the inspiration of close friends Gilli and Erez, born and raised in Kreuzberg Berlin, they have been working with fashion brands for over twenty years and fully understand niche eyewear. To them brand names do not matter, they could afford to buy an expensive suit or a flashy watch but visual wealth is not the driver, for them fashion eyewear is a feeling, a connection, something that feels right to the wearer and is truly individual.
Kreuzberg Kinder have generated an ever-growing celebrity following (to which we have added!). Local Comedy Writer Tim Reid, (‘Meet The Richardsons’ &BAFTA award for Peter Kay’s Car Share) has just collected his new statement KK piece in a deep blue, we hope to see him on the red carpet once again for his latest show ‘Meet The Robinsons’. Actor Tom Davies (Murder in Successville and the new BBC series King Gary) saw the collection on Instagram and had contacted Kreuzberg Kinder direct to see how fast he could get a pair! David Harper from the antiques roadshow is also a very proud owner of many pairs of Kreuzberg Kinder and like many other unendorsed celebrities he really champions the brand.
Follow @kreuzbergkinder to get a feel for the style, we are so proud to be one of a handful of UK practices to stock the Kreuzeberg Kinder brand.
Life’s too short for boring glasses, come in and check out our niche eyewear collections!
Individual and very different!
We’ve designed the layout with our client experience in mind and have showpiece and featured collections only on display. Many people feel lost when choosing new glasses, especially when confronted with racks of samey looking frames and hundreds of choices. Our one to one service with trained staff who listen to your needs, consider your style, budget and unique face shape and know our frame collections make the process enjoyable, easy and fun.
I spent months watching interior design programs (with notebook in hand!) researching ideas, products and designs to give the look and feel we were after and with the help of my amazing staff we gradually came up with the mid-century modern design with an op-art twist. Our suppliers who visit all remark that it’s one of the most beautiful practice interiors in the country which delights the team, they did endure disruption, disorganisation, dust, dirt, chaos and stress for weeks!
Sponsors of the JDI Kilimanjaro Team 2019
We were delighted to be a corporate sponsor of the ‘Just Drop In’ team on their recent Kilimanjaro expedition. All funds raised go towards supporting young people in Macclesfield in finding their feet. Well done to all the team on an amazing achievement!
