Difficult times but we are still here for you even though our door is locked. We are following guidelines for our profession which are as follows. We have to asses your need by phone initially and we may ask to connect with you by video-consultation if possible to establish if you need to attend the practice. Urgent appointments may (not always) be charged for (usually £70) our Optometrist is qualified as a prescriber.
- Essential eye care would for be instance where a key worker or elderly person needs a new spectacle prescription, had broken their glasses, where a contact lens wearer needs more lenses, or where a visually impaired person or child needs eye care.
- Urgent care would include urgent clinical advice or intervention e.g. for a red or painful eye, contact lens problem, eye injury, sudden change in vision, flashes and floaters.
If your problem is minor we will advise by phone, we will only open the practice if we really feel it necessary to do so. We have the technology to take your calls and access our patient records while working from home. We all have to stay safe and stay at home and that includes our staff!
